Glad someone is looking at this again.

Years and years ago our AT&T rep was talking about AT&T wireless looking at doing something similar. It never materialized.
SpaceX has a chance to make this work. Even if it is an add on service, and just for messaging, it would be a nice feature. I'm paying about $11 a month for my Garmin InReach service which will give me basic messaging. Having that built into my phone would be pretty sweet.
