Joe,

I didn't get to finish setting up the software last night. Wife and kids had other plans for me. I'll finish tonight and confirm that I can still get it to work.

Joe,

If you haven't got it to work yet, I played around with it last night and got mine working. I had to play around with the scanner and use hyperterminal to tune it to a frequency. After that I started up the T4Win software and it took off. I've attached some pictures to show how I have the software setup.

Steve, thanks for the post. My mom was put in the hospital yesterday, so it will be a few days before I can try your setup.

Thanks again,
Joe

Steve, tried based on your examples, still no go, going to stick with MTrunker for now.

Thanks for your examples and advice.

When I set this up this last time I had to play with the scanner to get it to control properly. I was just about to give up when it started working. I still like the mtrunker & etrunker because of the control over what you listen to.

Hmmmm, I did mess with it in HyperTerm first, but now I don't recall tuning it to a frequency like you first said. I did things like "SI", etc. May give it another shot after all.

Steve, you solved it. Your statement about tuning to a frequency first was the key.

I tried setting it to a freq thru hyperterm and it replied "NG", which means "invalid command". I had to send it a KEY13 which toggled it out of Trunk mode, then a KEY01 to set it to manual mode. I was then able to set it to a freq thru the "RF########" command. After setting it to a freq, I told hyperterm to disconnect. I then started T4Win and waited. After 1 to 2 minutes, it started working, and has run since.

Rick, if you do any more development of T4Win, you may want to consider adding initiation commands to get things rolling.

Thanks again Steve.

Glad to hear you got it working and I glad I was finally able to contribute to the forum instead of just receiving help from others. I saw that Uni-tracker has a beta out. Looks like there's another program to play around with.
