My buddy is the one that installed all of the test platforms at his work in Warren. They did all the test fits for Vermont SP, Maryland SP, CHP and MSP thus far. They also trained some CHP vehicle maintenance people how to install this system.

MICHIGAN LEADS THE WAY..

They installed the old system. The system MSP is now using is a test model system that isnt being sold yet.

CTPD and MCSO is using the older Project 54 and not their new tacnet

The TacNet is ok but on the dispatch end it sounds crappy. Dispatchers say the officer sounds like he/she is in a tin can when they use it and they have to turn their audio all the way up. There is also a ton of background noise with it.

The tin cansound is at least partialy douThe tin can sound is at least partially do to the hands free mic, the hand held mic should not have the problem. Low audio is most likely do to the audio can set wrong in the Tacnet configuration. Visteon no longer has anyone who knows two-way radio working on the project so it no likely to get fixed.

Thats wonderful no radio people. My buddy has installed 25 of the Project 54 TACNET's for various PD's in the country and he don't like working with them.
