You may know this, but don't lock out or use delay on ANY of the 15 freqs (per site). If the bank is truly set up for EDACS, it shouldn't be (and you don't want it to be) stopping on the control channel. The control channel will change from day to day.

Also, I don't have a PRO-95, but make sure that you've selected EDACS Standard/Wide - if it gives you the choice between wide or narrow/networked. And you might have to set each individual channel slot to EDACS, in addition to the bank.

I have every channel programmed as EDACS. I have opened and closed the control channel and it always stops on it. When it lands on the control channel it runs through CNTRL-02 and the various TG'S thata re operating. Wheater or not the control channel is loked out when it stops on a transmission the TG for that transmission is not displayed. Really frustrated here.

And you said that your bank is set for EDACS, with only one site (15 freqs) per bank, right?

Ok there are other freq's(vhf programmed in the bank) that are locked out. Do I have to open those channels and program to EDACS as well. If not I am at a loss.

It should never stop on the control channel. If it does, something isn't programmed correctly.

1. Make sure ALL the frequencies for the system are programmed in the bank, starting at channel xx1 and NOT xx0. The frequencies MUST be in the proper LCN order, and the mode must be set to "ED" (for Edacs) for ALL the frequencies. DO NOT lock out the control channel. Note: in a multi-site system, only put in one site per bank.

2. The bank itself must be set for Edacs as well, even if you have other frequencies programmed into that bank.

3. If these things are done correctly, and you scan the bank in "open" mode, then it should work. If it doesn't, then one of the things mentioned above has not been done properly. There isn't that much that could be wrong.

OK not stopping on control channel anymore. Scanning and stopping on channels with TG ID's being dispalyed. Lost my manual during the move down here from NJ. If only I can remember to program just 3 or 4 TG's to scan then I will be happier than a frog in a pond.

I don't have a PRO-95, so I can't help you out with talkgroup programming.

You may want to consider the Radio Shack USB programming cable and the Starrsoft Win 95 programming software. It makes programming easier and faster. Win 95 is freeware, you only need to buy the programming cable.

This will change in a hurry if the city goes along with a proposal to buy a $9 million M/A-COM system, the same system used by the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office.
The company was the low bidder for the contract by about $1.4 million, but its proposal offers other savings as well.

It's EDACS Standard. If you're referring to the digital voice, I used to think it was ProVoice, but if you read this entire thread it's stated that it isn't.

Rebanding has nothing to do with switching radios. Rebanding involves freq. that are located in the 866-868 band being shifted EXACTLY 15 mhz down. In a real radio only the 4 control channels have to be changed if they are in the upper band, in the Tyco Toy brand all the radios have be reprogrammed twice or more. If you are not hearing your favorite user on 866-868 look exactly 15 mhz down.
This is part of the Sprint-Nexthell thing. Spectrum that they wanted and by the time they get it they may be bought up by another company.
