I have helped catch some perps. once that the police were looking a long time for. The lady writing the article was going to have my full name in it. I asked her to just use my first name instead. I did not want them knowing who I was of course. Reading the paper the next day, to my surprise she left my last name out. :lol:

Out here we have commercial fishermen using illegal modified VHF ham radios. Many of their secret business channels are officially assigned to police and fire departments. I've heard them cussing out the sea lions on frequencies like 167.2625 mhz. It isn't harmonics and they're not FBI agents either!

Some CBers in Silicon Valley have got UHF transceivers. They like to use the business band repeaters; which are left on 24/7 by the licensed commercial interests.

I sure hope those punks don't see the MOTOROLA walkie-talkies for sale on the internet. One operates on 144-174 mhz and the 440-470 mhz. These $150.00 radios can be programmed for use on repeater systems and have PL capabilities. They even have a built in scrambler for private conversations. IDIOTS can raise holy hell with some things even more dangerouis than the local police departments with one of these radios...
