Hello, trying to install on mint 17 on asus 1001 PXD, osmosdr by script, this fails, while everything else seems to be installed. How can I install only osmosdr without performing all the script?

Meanwhile, on Spain´s Ebay, some douchbag is trying to sell something very similar to Jacek´s work for a botload of euros:
TETRA Prototipo receptor experimental decodifica voz | eBay

if you want some fun, then ask him if it is ready to use, or if you need to compile anything.
the answer will most probably that it is ready to use. in this case please ask him if the price includes a price for the acelp codec license (and for the documents to proove it). i think that ebay has some policy on the selling of unlicensed software :)

I wonder if anyone is stupid enough to place a bid.

"Special Christmas offer. Only until December 26th" - it's past december 26 and noone jumped at this great business opportunity yet

btw 1800 euro is a nice price - maybe i should charge something for telive? it would have to be some universal currency that you could get anywhere in the world (like 1 beer). just joking :)

Doesnt look like Jackec´s software and it´s based on the old Funcube, which by itself, it´s a pain in the neck to use.

Dig?

it is probably osmo-tetra patched to save the audio files (patches have been floating around since a few years, for example see: osmo-tetra - Osmocom TETRA PHY/MAC implementation ), with a script to recode the resulting files into .wav, and maybe play them (something like tetrad does).

btw the funcube is a nice piece of hardware, and can be used with my software too, but you can monitor only one channel, and it is costly (why use $100 hardware, when you can use $10 hardware, and have a more flexible setup). save the funcube for weak-signal stuff

this is the case with duplex calls, since there are really two separate calls, and you only hear one part. try to enable recording, and monitor multiple channels from the same system. if both users are on this system then you might record two calls at the same time, with similar duration, each recording will hold the one part of the conversation (which is very annoying btw, you can stich them together in audacity if you like).

with half-duplex calls you will hear both sides.

i would do this: enable the 1 channel simple grc (the one with two spectrum displays and click-to-tune), and tune through everything that looks like tetra, for every frequency theat you get something note the control channel up/down frequencies, colour code, nmc, mcc. frequencies that have these parameters the same will probably belong to the same system (but not always, there might be a misconfiguration, that will not be noticed by the users)

Thanks sq5bpf I will check and let you know.

Has anyone got Tetra Decoding working?

Hi Guys,

I have been trying with now 8 different installations of Linux, all ubuntu and all ranging from the latest build down to version 10 and under everyone I cannot get anywhere, I am copying the commands from the RTL SDR website but I cannot get past even the first few bits without errors.

If anyone has a working copy anychance of imaging it so I can load it into VMWare?

To run gnu-radio under vmware you need a really powerful computer and even so the results will be crappy.

Keep trying , ask questions, search the web, its not difficult in the end to get it running as many people already have .

vmware is not very fast, and the vm probably lacks a lot of ram (ubuntu likes to grab a lot of resources for itself). gnuradio compilation can take some time, and in this setup it will probably take forever. try running top, and see if the compilation is still going (if so, then leave it for another day).

btw this is one of the reasons that i don't recommend running the software in virtual machines.

WMware

Kali 1.0.9 has already Gnuradio 3.6 installed . Funcube and funcube pro doesn't work under Wmware .
Rtl-SDR is working fine with Tetra decoder under WMWARE

only need to install osmocom lib, tetra-rx and telive

Hello , I tried to make a record of what I get as AIRCRYPT 1 , and I tried to play the audio file at a lower speed and seems more understandable communication even if still little , for sq5bpf , I can send you the file ? maybe you can figure out if it's crypto or just a change in the playback speed .

Sq5bpf is it possible?

yes, the next version will have an option to define a filter for listening (not for recording). this filter can be used for filtering which audio is played, or can be negated to exclude which audio is played

a new version is out on github. changes include filtering live listening by SSI, and the ability to pass an environment variable that will be interpreted as keystrokes (so that you can for example pass lRM to enable logging, recording and mute)

no documentation is avaliable, so for now you have to rtfs to figure it out. i will try to write the docs tomorrow

Thanks! Looks like a good step forward, and thanks for adding the LA in the status window. It would also be interesting to get the CCK ID there too, but it's obviously low prio since that's only for curiosity reasons.

I'll try the filters tomorrow, so this was a good update for the comming weekend.
