DPS Aviation units are numeric 100 to 120, they don't specify with call signs between fixed or rotor.
There is a DPS call sign Inspector 219 and Inspector 243 that I will hear around Austin that is operating out of fixed wing assets and using radio UIDs in the same range as other DPS aviation assets. Callsign could perhaps refer to the officer and not the aircraft?

It's actually Spectre 219/243. Named for the PC-12 Spectre aircraft.
Kevin, good to know, thanks! I will have to pay more attention now when I hear one of them up. I always thought "inspector" was an odd call sign for an aircraft.

The two Spectre aircraft are N219TX (recently in Austin) and N243TX (recently in San Antonio).

It was interesting watching the Austin bird work on ADS-B during the unrest in Dallas in the summer of 2020.

Also, anyone have a list of what areas use what DPS callsigns?
Examples:
Austin uses DPS 100?
Dallas uses DPS 101
Houston uses DPS 102
It's been a while but DPS 112 has been used in North Texas when flying conditions were unfavorable for DPS 101. 112 was a fixed wing A/C we used in the county during a search. I want to say he was from Texarkana but I've slept a few times since then.

Dallas PD has been running Air Two during the fair. I heard them during the OU game on a traffic TG

McLennan County (Waco) Sheriff airship identifies as Air 1 on the HOTRRS system

Looks like Austin PD just sold one of their helicopter.
N1240W belongs to some place in Kansas now.
Still have their fixed-wing and 2 other helicopters.
