The only reference to TGID 26601 I could find is for Union County, but I got a wildcard hit on it while monitoring a pursuit in Sebastian County tonight. Do other counties use the same IDs?

I hear strange talkgroups all the time over here in Franklin Co, Just goes with the system. I store them and lock them out and keep listening.

I'm fairly new to digital scanning. but is there "skip" like there is with conventional frequencies? Or would there be some type of bouncing from one tower to another? I'm roughly 230 miles from El Dorado.

Could be a traveler - somebody is in your area from Union Co has a radio and is monitoring his home county. The radio would affiliate with your tower and then the tower would broadcast the talkgroup.

This part is what I have to keep reminding myself. As this eludes to and I've heard before, a radio has to be in the area and on that TG before we'll hear it, even if it's a county across the state. Takes me awhile to figure out how the system operates (and maybe this is typical of a p25 system but I've only been in digital scanning about a year now myself so sometimes it's 'new' to me as well.)

I never knew digital would work like this either. A few moments ago, I was listening to TGRP ID 3 which appears to be Troop A Southside Dispatch. They were talking about an erratic driver at 67 South and I40. The frequencies, 859.9625, 853.3375,858.9625, and 860.2725 were mostly coming off the Hartford tower. It seems like it could cause problems locally somehow.

The only way it would cause a problem is if there were several local users trying to use different talk groups and all channels were loaded. Then someone would get a busy signal until a channel cleared.

In reality, the towers are very rarely full loaded where a user gets a busy signal.
