• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

As these are incredibly hard to find, I thought this might be of interest - plus I need the key fill cable / side connector to hirose adapter if anyone has any leads on these - Also, I know a guy who has two or three PRC-7332 and a multi-bay charger for sale. I already bought a few. Pretty good condition, two out of the bunch I bought had speakers that seemed, for lack of a better term, blown, but still functioning and when I use the remote mic it works perfectly.

would very much appreciate any info on getting the key fill cable / adapter.

I believe so, do you want his number? I would love to get a key fill cable from you. I’ll try and send you a private message on this site, but never tried before.

About 2 1/2 yrs ago I bought a Liberty off fleabay with hirose adapter and programming cable and I got it for $107. It worked fine but the battery didn't last very long. I couldn't find any programming software for anything less than full retail and at the time there was not a new battery to be had on this entire planet. I put it back on fleabay advertised properly and it fetched over $700, which I thought was ludicris due to the no battery available for any price problem.

I wish some of you guys were discussing the Liberty back then, I would have made you a heck of a deal. I see some people advertising Liberty radios basically what you can get a Harris Unity goes for and that's nuts as most accys are easily available for the Unity.

no kidding I've had them for about 7 years of good service should have thought about getting some more accessories and spares when they were cheap.

Interestingly, the Thales is far easier to use than the Harris…on the Liberty you can change mode/band/freq quick on the fly in the field, whereas with the Harris the channels have to be preconfigured , I.e. p25 / analog , using the software etc… and the Harris software is $$$$

I couldn’t get a KFDtool key loader…had been out of stock forever…finally found the KFD shield a few months back (complete+arduino)… used a hirose tail to connect to PRC-7332 via side connector - let’s load no problem , but I also found out that one of the PRC7332s I have does not have the AES option (I don’t even remember when I bought it, I think it was part of a batch of three) so if anyone is interested in buying that one unit, it is for sale - also I have an extra Thales PRC-7332 USB to side connector programming cable that I would consider selling…also someone asked what settings required to config radio using windows 10/11…that setting is use windows ‘compatibility mode-windows 8’ then it works fine.
