Heard the same, nothing else. Keep getting some dead keys on the APS system, Interstate TG.

They were to use:

AZ SEOC 1 1168 for Incident Comms
AZ SEOC 2 1200 for Support
AZ SEOC 3 1132 for Admin

There were some comms between Gila County, Yavapai and Coconino on the amateur ARES/RACES 2 meter nets.

Im not in a good location to pick up the system, so I most likely missed a lot of that. Then, I found out, the power went out today while I was at work. Always something.

And just a point of fact, HIPAA specifically exempts 2-way radio communications from the privacy regulations, under certain conditions.

I was looking for that info in my training material from HHS but couldn't find it.
The CAD in Indy won't show addresses for medical runs but does put an icon on google maps that is almost always on the location, plus the address is given in the clear on pages.

When I get cold calls from sales folks it usually starts out with 'how are you doing today?'

I say 'you can't inquire about my health status without a HIPPA waiver'
I usually hear a click after that.

The Phoenix FD RDC online CAD page won't show most EMS calls for privacy reasons. Motor vehicle accidents and mountain rescues are two exceptions.

State laws, and agency policies, may impose stricter limitations than federal law does.

And it's HIPAA, not HIPPA :)

Tuesday is the NDMS exercise, which may include actual aircraft movement of "patients" into Phoenix, then (air? ground?) movement of those patients to local hospitals, according to the timeline on the DEMA page about the exercise.

U-Tac 42, 453.7125 (156.7 CTCSS) has been active with related comms this morning.

L-deck 6 has been mentioned for comms as well, but so far I have not heard anything. (Edit: K-deck 2 is listed on the Phoenix FD RDC CAD page, with an address on the Old Tower Rd, I presume at the Air National Guard base at Sky Harbor airport. I've not heard any comms on K-2.)

Ham radio is also playing, or will play, a role in this, but I don't know what simplex/repeater frequencies will be used.

Today's exercise appears to be over.

I never heard comms on K-2 (as listed on the CAD page) or L-6 (as mentioned on air.)

I didn't search the Ham bands, or the VHF or UHF goverment bands.

Mention was made of FirstNet radios being used. One person was asked to turn his on, as someone else wanted to try something with the FirstNet radios.

Mention was made of a simplex channel. I'm not sure if they were using simplex on U-Tac 42 as well as the repeater, or if they were using a completely separate frequency altogether.

There was very little activity that I heard on SEOC 1, TG 1168 on the APS trunked system.

There was a little activity on the DRN South Mtn repeater, 139.4375, but I don't think it was related.

There's 2.5 days left for the rest of the exercise.

I saw L6 and L7 light up with quite a bit of ENC traffic, did you get the same?

I heard nothing on the L-decks, or K-2.

Usually, K-2 will come up on either the White Tank Mtn's or Thompson Peak IR High sites with Central City calls, but I didn't even hear those.
If the L-decks weren't carried on any of the IR sites I have programmed, that may have been why I never heard anything. Naturally, I have multi-path issues with the simulcast systems, A, B, G, that I am within range of.

I recognised the voice of one of the operators on U-Tac 42 as being a Ham that I've heard on the Skywarn repeater, but I don't recall his name or callsign. I think he's one of the net controls for Skywarn, however. He was using the tactical callsign of "Transportation" for this exercise.

I wasn't paying too much attention today. I heard the usual roll call of state assets on TG 1168, but that was it. I didn't even have the Phoenix FD scanlist (K, L, and analog channels) in the scanning rotation.

Radio is only one aspect of this exercise not the main focus. While there are some radio communications, most of the communications from counties to the state and vise versa is web based.

Actually there was a lot of traffic on L6 and L Deck is in the clear. It was being used at the airport for the NDMS Exercise. There was 10 times more traffic on L6 than UTAC42. UTAC 42 was just a Command Channel. There was nothing on K2 because Phoenix Fire played a very small role. Other cities handled the bulk of the exercise. There was also a fair amount of traffic on the ham frequencies too.

The NDMS Exercise officially started at 1000 and wrapped up around 1500.

I was chuckling reading all the comments about where things are usually found. It's all up to the COML for the event where things end up. Sometimes they use out of the ordinary frequencies just to exercise things. Never assume where things will be, you have to look for them.

Right, that's the whole point, finding stuff between the usual, and checking out what's new. For me, that's the fun part in scanning. I discovered some other interesting stuff while searching off the beaten path while scanning that huge list. I think a lot of people dont understand that about scanning, I get that often "why do you have a scanner, what's the big deal?" I just find it interesting.
