The Big E in Massachusetts

Yes, you read that correctly. The Big E, known as the Eastern States Exposition, is going on now through October 4th. I plan on attending next week to confirm no changes to the radio layout there. If you haven't been, it's a lot of fun. The fair is in West Springfield, but everyone uses a TAC stack and in the clear. (Westside is encrypted). Agawam, which deals with a lot of the fair, is in the clear. In the past their channel 2 has been used. I never did hear back from the Botetourt County Virginia Sheriff's office. Oh well, they're missing out.

I love the Big E, always a great opportunity for frequency finding and .....

and folks say the Interop channels V-TAC, U-TAC, and 8-TAC do not allow Big E traffic...

There at least used to be a nice little diner in Troutville, maybe they were having lunch.
