5110khz WBCQ out of Maine is coming in ok tonight but .3 off frequency at 50,000 watts never noticed this one.

WBCQ is my favorite shortwave station. 5110 -is also known has Area 51 - There have a Frank Zappa show called "The Lumpy Gravy Radio Show" Area 51: the hair in “Bob”‘s ears

Just wondering How you determine that this station is off freq by .3 as you say?

It was .3 off on both USB and LSB...I always do this little test to get a true zero on AM. 95% of the broadcast stations on SW are dead on (that and WWV tell me MY rig is not the problem)This is why I video all my catches-because the few times I do not I get questions like this. If I showed it in a vid you would see what I meant

Click on the link in my post for the schedule, they only broadcast on sat and sun due to funding issues. WBCQ The Planet is the main site - 5110 - Area 51 is part of the WBCQ family.

Great Station! I do enjoy their shows. I guess anyone can buy airtime really to hear their voice an opinions heard worldwide. I listened to the Lost Discs Radio Show re-broadcast last night. Love it.

I listened to WBCQ from around 2000 - 2004. I just got back into shortwave a few weeks ago. WBCQ 7.415 from Monticello, MN comes in around an S9. I've also been listening to some interesting programming on 4.840, which I heard is part of the "GCN Radio Network?". That station comes in at an S10 (40db!).

I am using a Kenwood R-1000 with a homemade copper wire antenna.

I've also been listening to some interesting programming on 4.840, which I heard is part of the "GCN Radio Network?". That station comes in at an S10 (40db!).

Yep I receive both of these stations also, I am listening to 4.840 GCNY THE DIVIDED KINGDOM RELIGION NASHVILLE TN right now and I have a signal of S-20 very clear and very strong signal.
