This posting is for those who have the Pro-96 & Pro-2096 scanners.

I had one party ask me as to what the ATT is for? OK I will say this in the next line.

Here I use what is called the antenuation (ATT). What this does is to block out over loaded signals at close range. If you are listening to say like police & fire localy, you would use the ATT to block out excessive back ground noises.

But also be aware that this feature can block out long distance receptions that you listen to.

Does this only work in NH?
No, it works anywhere. The ATT feature effectively raises the squelch, so that overpowering frequencies nearby don't come through on that frequency, however the downside is the signal you want to hear needs to be strong in order to break through that 20dB of attenuation you enabled.
