my only grip about the hp-1 is with as large a screen it has it shows very little data, it is especially missing the site name, that sucks

Seriously? The HP-1 screen shows more info than any other scanner I own: 780; 785; 796, 996T, 996XT.
Since I don't use it mobile, I know what site it is monitoring and I can easily switch to the Advanced features and display all the site info if that becomes necessary.

Granted 996T doesnt show uid and info flashes alternating on the screen, but couldnt they have found room on the display for site name, like in grey on the 2nd line below or above department

Mine should be here today or tomorrow, so I will be able to set it up and start learning how to use it this weekend. I'm going to wait to mount it in my vehicle until I am familiar with it. I think it shows a wealth of knowledge over the scanners I have had all my life up until this point. And I got excited when I got my BC125AT that could program CTCSS/DCS tones.
