Don't send in anything not needed for repair. The couple of scanners I have had repaired, I sent only the radio. AC adapters, antennas, battery packs, those I keep. Last RS scanner I sent in, they even specified that. Can't remember about Uniden, the last scanner of their's I sent in was the BC100XLT. But I kept the antenna and battery pack for it, and got no flack from the repair depot.

Tip: when sending anything in other than through the store (as radio Shack does) send it via USPS and request Delivery Confirmation. Then you have proof that it arrived at their facility. And if there is a problem later and they deny having received it, you tell them "Well, I've got a signed Delivery Confirmation, so I'm going to call the U.S. Postal Inspectors and report this." Works wonders! Friend of mine did this (amateur radio xceiver sent in for repair under warranty) and within three days he had a brand-new radio shipped to him Next Day delivery.
