I suddenly am not receiving Thornton PD & FD on my Pro-96.

I went into Win 96 to reload them and got an error that won't let me.

Does anyone know if they have changed ID's or something?????

Thanks,
Mic.

Probably a 700 MHz issue. I'm sure someone will explain it better, but the Pro96 will not do 700 MHz. I thought things were being simulcasted on 800 MHz, but maybe they have gone to 700 exclusively.

Jerry,
They are on the state DTRS unless that has changed. I have been listening to them for months and it just went silent friday.

For the past couple of days (maybe more) I'm only hearing them on 700, no 800.
Along those lines I noticed that site 322 is gone and out of the database...
If you can set 755.5312 in as a P25 trunked CCh...

That's what I figured. DTRS is using 700 now on some sites. That's why I have been waiting for a new scanner to come out before I spend the big bucks. Yes, The Uniden does 700, but the smart guys (Jim) on this website say it is a terrible unit.

Oh, and in addition, at times Commerce City's FD will show up on 700 from time to time, though they are coming up on their usual TRS 800 TGIDs.

I am hearing Thorton PD chnl 1 on 800mhz. I find it odd that Thorton PD would just up and move to 700mhz and Northglen PD would remain on 800mhz. I realize that it could be a money issue when it comes to upgrading the radios to accept 700mhz cc's. I just think it is odd that one dept would go and not the other considering they over lap each other's cities all day long.

Just curious. For those of you that are not able to hear them on 800mhz. What tower or towers are you trying to hear them on. All of you aren't trying to hear them on that 322 tower or whatever it is.

Site 322 is the dedicated 700MHz site that has Thornton PD and FD almost exclusively I will try to add a Thornton online feed sometime this week for those without a 396 or 996.

Might check previous threads there has been lots of discussion about this in past weeks.

I'm hearing Thornton fine on Thorodin Mtn. on 800 MHz.

Those talk groups are now denied on Lookout Mtn., so you will have to listen to the Thorodin site if you want to hear them (868.975) and you only have 800 MHz capability (or any other site that is not denying them, and they use it, but Thorodin will be the best).

Hi Mic,

I live in Northglenn and the main monitoring that I do here is Northglenn and Thornton PD's. My Pro96 and Pro2096 were working fine Friday night receiving both of these departments on the Thorodin 800 MHz site. I was monitoring them sometime after 11:00 PM until about 4:00 AM. On your WIN96 program what type error did you get? Was it a program/computer error or did you get the error while trying to upload the information into the scanner? I'm thinking that you may be having problems with your scanner's memory. You may want to think about trying the steps in the manual for resetting and initializing the scanner (page 113).

Thorodin is still allowing Thornton everything so if you really need to hear them this is the 800 site to use. It will surprise the hell out of me if CCNC does block them on Thorodin.

Add Squaw Mountain to the list of no more Thornton access.

From past discussions a good year or more back Thornton was planning on getting 700 sites on the air eventually. One of the proposed sites mentioned was on the Thornton civic center antenna farm. Bets are that one of the towers is in the 112th ave & I-25 area.

Be glad they are not using encryption full time on their dispatch TG. It has been used on an occasional basis so far. I am under the impression most all their radios have it.

Why Northglenn is still 800 everywhere? Probable that they have 800 only radios still in use if they have not traded up to mot 2.5K or 5K radios and Spectra Pluses. Chances are with the enhanced coverage of the 700 sites that they will trade up if they haven't started the process allready.

Phil.
