I was looking at the License for the Lubbock system and noticed several things:
1) in the license it is showing 858.7375 for Abernathy while the database shows 858.4875
in the license it is showing for Lubbock while the database shows 857.487
Any opinoins on what is correct?
2) This is a note from the FCC on the system that just went on line , not sure if some one forgot to send an update

here is the page it is from https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/Ul...Loc=15985829&licKey=3500588&archive=&x=9&y=11
3) In the data base the Lubbock system is referred to as " LUBBOCK CITY COUNTY MUTUAL RADIO SYSTEM" . Where is this name from I have not seen it mentioned anywhere else?
4) There are about 8 frequencies that are not even being used , What is the purpose of holding on to these? It is not like the is a shortage of frequencies in the Lubbock area.

Go to the ADMIN tab on the license link. Scroll down to Automated Letters and Authorizations and Attachments. Read those. It looks like they failed to file the required notifications (probably due to incompetence).

I haven't spent a lot of time trying to figure out some of the simulcast (or standalone) sites. I may try and find free time over the holidays to look into some of these things. I know they're holding on to the licenses for frequencies they're not using - told that it's more of a 'just in case' while they continue to work out kinks and bugs. In their words 'They're paid for, so we'll keep them'.

There are still many unidentified talkgroups. Perhaps I can work on some of that as well. If anyone would like to compare notes offline, I'd be happy to discuss.

County Fire departments will now have an additional repeater at their disposal. Database update was submitted this week and should be updated any time now. It is still unclear if the new repeater will also have a patch to the TRS.

I heard a new TG a few days ago on TG 20760. The transmission was "This is SS1 over". A woman replied back. I havent heard that TG anymore. Any clues who this is?

Best I have been able to ascertain, that TG is being used by Sunrise Canyon Hospital. I haven't been able to confirm past what sounded like an exercise or something going on out there. I've not submitted due to the confusion. But this is a new'ish' talkgroup, and has started being a little busy. . . as recent as 1700 today

When doing said exercise, there were folks going by all different callsigns:
"Dave to Sunrise 1"
"SS2 to SC4"
"Receiving to Security"

Just heard 156.21 (84.5) usedthe first time since this freq was switched to the VFD. They were working the house fire on Woodrow Road. There was also a patch of it on TG 20524. Im going to go out on a limb and say that VHF used for the county fire will be phased out over the year or so.

I don't know - they've invested a little time and money into the VHF stuff. I hear the few VFD's that use 800mhz radios have to get them reprogrammed (likely to add the Lubbock County Fire 2 talkgroup.

I don't see a way for ALL of the VFD's to provide enough 800mhz radios to their folks to completely wipe out VHF. As nice as it would be to be ALL on one or the other, a mixed system is likely all we'll ever see.
