Back on page 4, Sept-Dec 2018, there is a thread titled R8600 Tips & Tricks.
If you haven't seen it, it is well worth checking out. I don't know why, but it
has been locked.
My tip is fairly simple. I wanted a MUTE button, but Icom choose not to include
it on the Front Panel. Since I always tune from a memory, I never use the VFO.
So I use the V/M button as a MUTE button. You can use any quite frequency on
the VFO. I use 145.000 which is very quite when used with the proper squelch
setting. No rocket science, but it works.
