There is a wireless transmitter you can get to broadcast tv locally from room to room.
He might be using that. Hook an external antenna to your tv and select the input as antenna and not cable.. You might get a picture. The audio might travel further though.

Yeah but thats not what he is hearing. He is hearing the couples conversation as well. Wireless speakers and a wireless transmitter for the video/audio wouldnt broadcast their conversation.

A thought--what if it's a "medical alert" type base station that works in conjunction with a pendant worn by the owner---press a button and the base is dialing for help, and you just yell in the room that "I've fallen and can get up" type of situation??
