I am back to tinkering with a box of 3101s formerly Tuscon school district. What I thought to be an audio problem with all may be an issue with self programming.
The gist I get with this feature is to program a test frequency. Problem I have is they all go through the self programming, but when completed, they produce a distorted 1khz sound and the only thing that works is the volume control. Cycling the power doesn't change that.
Has anyone run across this and is there a fix for it. ??
I have a programming cable and software, thinking programming user mode would be the solution, however, I have lost the serial number to install this on my bench computer. Can anyone help with that also.
All but a few radios are in rather good shape, one looks like someone began disassembly and missing some screws and battery latch.
Too good just to butcher for components.
Parts needed also are knobs, antennas, and batteries if anyone knows where those can be had. A couple chargers in the lot seem great.
Thanks people.
