Kenwood: Tm 271 problem cant transmite ,,only tone tut tut tut

I have tm 271 Kenwood ,,but cant transmite,,only come sound tut tut tut tut,can give solution ,,

What frequency are you trying to transmit on?

How are you powering the radio? Is the power supply capable of delivering 10 to 15 amps at 13.8 volts? Is the power cable in good condition with clean contacts?

Concur with AK9R - 271 and 281 need plenty of current and if not available, they cycle on and off repeatedly, resetting each time.
