Not that I know of, just the same as all over, "can't be used for commision of a crime or aiding in the commission of a crime. But I could be wrong.

No, none that I have ever been able to find, and I have looked.

Clarification- I am talking about state statutes. Have not endeavored to research all the various municipalities!

Here is the updated link for the Nashville, Tn Law just be aware other municipalities can have a different one, and the Nashivlle law is very old and very vague.

Best thing to do is get a Ham Radio License and most states allow for you to operate a scanner in a vehicle.

Also the old rule of thumb still stands as previously stated out of sight out of mind.

They won't bother you in Tennessee. Go to Kentucky and they will confiscate your brand new Pro-96 and give it to their kids if you have it in your car.

Yea I used to work for a LEO in Kentucky and the KVE gave us many scanners for our cruisers that where seized out of commercial vehicles.

Here in Washington Co., the Sheriff's Dept. sort of has an issue with people having it in their radios, but its not illegal.
