It's already a year or two behind schedule. I think, at least on that particular receiver, folks have already moved on.

There have been numerous factors impacting on all sorts of aspects of life resulting in all sorts of delays.
Supply of required hardware due to incidents, which was further impacted by COVID-19 induced supply issues, not to mention COVID-19 induced workplace limitations.

Even one of the other manufactures had to look to ceasing production lines of other products to redirect components in to other existing or possible new lines given some of the hardware shortages being experienced.

There might well be people who have 'moved on', there also may be newly interested and curious folks or some who might have their interest tickled again by the possibility of this unit now being released.

All for show. Again no shipping date. No price. 4 years latter.

And yet you and I have still managed to survive despite a radio not being released.

Let's not forget when it first appeared it wasn't a definite release back then, it was simply for consideration, it wasn't until later and after warm reception (no pun intended) it was considered they'd go ahead with it. A fair bit of the speculation on timelines was purely down to forums and some other sites speculating on whispers and assumptions initially.

Are we actually blaming AOR and other radio manufacturers for recent world events? Something many manufacturing industries are yet to fully recover from.

Sure 'some' issues are down to their own internal matters or failures but some of you fail, and miserably so, at being able to look at anything more than one dimensional and distinguish the lines between what they can and can't control.

AOR can take their wannabe air band receiver and fancy red tablecloth with 4 speakers and pack it up and go away. Again. What a bunch of morons.

I would purchase that AR-7400 AM air band and FM broadcast receiver for $200, even though I do not need the FM radio half of it. Its either that, or rig up a spare Raspberry Pi and a USB dongle along with some software to scan.

I mentioned the more rational, plausible and related matters, you good folks on the other hand...
Enjoy your wailing wall gents.
Items you mentioned were responsible for many delays among many manufacturers, including the auto industry. However, AOR have a habit of slow or non-delivery of user expectations. This "wailing wall" is the forum to voice our displeasure (or pleasure ) where needed.

It certainly felt quieter than in past years. Sunday in particular felt surprisingly empty. Several of the clubs packed up early.

I liked the styling of the Alinco DJ-X100 handheld 30~470MHz receiver, but it isn't expected to ship until next year, so a bit of wait-and-see is necessary there too.
