Ft. McCoy and Volk area have lots of personal/vehicles from Texas/Louisiana doing ground training this month. Anyone near the area to pick up any freqs?

You will probably have better success listening to the Fort McCoy trunking system if you are close enough. It is likely that many of the conventional frequencies listed have been replaced by talkgroups on the trunking system.

On this topic..the convoys u see on the highways with the long whips what radios are they running?

I’m guessing some form of SINCGARS radio. In the past, some covoys could be heard on a VHF-lo simplex frequency. Not sure what the current protocol is now however.
