Tone Question

Hello, I’m trying to setup the tone out feature on my Uniden BCD325P2. Trying to get it setup for New Boston NH Fire Dept. I know the frequency is 153.860 but what’s the “tone”? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Thank you

If you set the tone to "search" in the menus when they transmit you will see it then press "E" and it will enter it automatically

I have never used FTO and didn’t realize they weren’t same values. Sorry to the OP.

I guess what’s in the db is sub-audible? And FTO is audible. I should have realized this.

Thanks I just have no idea how to find out what the tone is that I have to enter in “tone A”

Do I need to program the “tone” in order to hear the alert sounds that I programmed? Right now the modulation is on auto and the attentuator is turned on.

Hmm I had it on stand by search mode for the 7PM nightly test and it wasn’t picking up anything and I switched back over to “hold” mode and it picked it up fine, the new alert sound wasn’t there though.

Unless my problem has nothing to do with the tone and it was an error in my programming since I’m not too familiar with what the settings mean

attenuation is to cut the signal to about 1/100th of the original.
you would probably want it off..

just hear the page out or just FD talk ?
i see there are analog and P25 dispatch.

Correct. I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere so the police station in the town over dispatches my town. My towns frequency is “153.860” for New Boston fire dept. I’m just trying to figure out what exactly the tones are that I need in order to use the tone out feature on my scanner

Can’t find “tone out” A and B for New Boston Fire Department.

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has the tone outs I need for the New Boston NH Fire Department? On the wiki there’s only the tone outs from the old fire frequency “154.160” but the new frequency is “153.860”. Trying to get my bcd325p2 setup to act like a pager with the tone out mode. Thanks
