Also on Topaz, anyone found a TG for C10? Just heard EDC (East Deputy) dispatched on a call missed the address. I don't have a TG set for C10 but while scanning what I do have 3044 Mutual Aid keeps popping up but with what sounds like encryption.

Hello, I saw the post was titled Topaz regional. I'm a photojournalist that relies on a scanner for my Mesa based work, Mesa PD still seems like they're on the older, non-digital system? I have been successful at listening to communications at my base, then being able to respond to events that are happening in Mesa, by taking my current device on the move and continuing without interruption to monitor communications.. I also work in Scottsdale but that system seems different, P25 Phase II perhaps? I'd love to find a scanner or pager that will allow me to listen to things happening at a static base then be able to grab the device and go mobile while still maintaining good listening. Is there a good device out there that will allow this? I hear about how the nicer Unidens have problems with people at a home location wanting to transfer to mobile movement? I hear the praises of the Unication G5... will this or any device allow me to listen reliably to City of Mesa PD and Scottsdale PD, not at the same time, then take the device and move to other locations in the city while receiving transmissions?

My 2 cents is to pick up the BCD325P2. When I was working overnights in Scottsdale I had great coverage with mine. Currently I'm using it for the TOPAZ System at home. It's my go to radio when traveling.

I have both the G4 and SDS200. G4 not so good for scanning multiple P25 talkgroups, but for listening to just one talkgroup very good. I monitor mostly Gilbert PD and Mesa Gilbert fire. Mesa/Gilbert fire simulcasts on VHF, so and older scanner works for that.

Must be some kind of training. Mesa follows the PHX numbering system for apparatus and they don't refer to ambulances as Rescue # on the radio but as AMR ### since AMR provides medical transport. The addresses are all over the place, the first one on Michigan Ave would be Youngtown and the second one on 85th St would be Scottsdale neither on the Topaz system.
I'm pretty sure there is a Michigan Ave. on the Old Williams AFB.
