Torrington Fire Department New Radios - 29xxx Radio IDs

I've been noticing (and listing) a lot of new 143xxxx radios in the Torrington Fire talkgroups. Today I noticed 3 affiliations with 29xxx Radio IDs in the torrington fireground talkgroup.

Any thoughts on these?

new portables are in. 50+ vp8000s. vhf is being used as secondary.

Torrington is 143 so no surprise, and Colebrook, LCD town, would be expected. You may see more and more out of town radios affiliating when there is an incident in one town, even if that town is not called. Been that way for years, it is simply that they can be seen/logged on CLMRN

According to the formula, Colebrook is municipality number 29, which one would expect to have radios numbered 29xxxx. These are 29xxx to suggest consoles for Ansonia.

I see the ones, or at least some of them. Perhaps they did not get changed from the factory and those are part of the serial number.

The lower ones were hit with Inhibit several times so they have attracted attention or are known.
