We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Torus project freqs?

Jun 4, 2004
Newton, KS
Just saw a news story on our local NBC station about the TORUS project that is in Salina today getting ready to chase storms and launch drones into severe storms in KS, NE and IA. Includes NSSL and colleges from Nebraska and Colorado as well as a NOAA hurricane Hunter aircraft. Anybody have current freqs if any they might use? I used to listen for activity on 163.100 to know if NSSL was nearby which usually meant it was about to get rough, but I haven't heard anything on that freq for years and figured they'd abandoned it.
