i have a home patrol II and suddenly have issue with Touch Screen and inability to select intended window. Ex: if press RANGE, the window below opens. if I press that window, the window below opens, etc. if I press MENU to calibrate the touch screen, option won't open. i have reset unit multiple times without success. I've used stylus in place of finger, that didn't work either. Any suggestions? Thxx

Worth a try.....

Slide a small thin piece of paper around the edge of the screen where the bezel overlaps the screen. Sometimes small particles can get stuck in there and put pressure on the screen.

Have you tried if test mode are any easier to access and calibrate the display?
Power off and hold down volume-up while powering on. When the Homepatrol logo shows you switch to holding down the volume-down button. You then are in test mode and hopefully can do a display calibration.

But if it suddenly change it probably are the connector to the touch glass that have some issue. Clean the display with a computer screen clean tissue and make sure nothing are stuck in the fram of the display or have some dried liquid.

As @Ubbe mentioned... Try going into the test mode...
When in test mode the Calibration should show up on the screen...
See if you can try to hit the Calibration mode on the screen from there...
Powering down the scanner will take you out of test mode...

Just a note: This is the only way to get to the screen calibration... Can't do it thru the menu...

Tap on the circle with the plus sign (Of all five of them as they appear) and then tap the save button when done...
I use a stylus to get more precise on the plus sign and don't use my finger though...
Then power down the scanner and turn it back on...

Thanks, I only get one circle, I’ll keep fooling with it…

I’m not going to fool with it anymore, I’m thinking about getting the sd200. I appreciate your help with the home patrol… thank you!
I had the same thing happen on my HP2 and ended up sending it to Uniden repair for a screen replacement. It's been about 3 years and starting to act up again. I've got an HP1 that I've had since 2013 and haven't had any screen issues.
