It is not uncommon for towing, farms, delivery companies, etc... to pay a fee to use a common radio system. FCC records would only list the name of the license holder of the radio system and not the individual services that use the radio system. The only way to find the freqs are to monitor, monitor, monitor..........or contact the companies you wish to monitor and ask them. Good luck !!

Most of the towing services in my area use 150-151 mhz. you can try to search that range..

In the Metro Detroit area, there a ton of towing companies that use LTR trunking systems. Likewise, this is very common across the Lower Peninsula. It's very possible they might be using an SMR TRS. A little detective work goes a long ways in determining what radio band towing companies operate on.

The most common way to find out what radio band any commercial operator is on, is to examine the physical length of the antenna on the truck. Secondly, try to examine what type of radio is inside the vehicle. This can yield a lot of clues, and might tell the whole story. Finally, search all of the commercial two-way radio providers by frequency. This method would require a lot of time listening and attempting to decode what towing company you are listening to.

Happy scanning! :)

Thanks for the replys guys. I was hoping some one knew. I am not too good at determining the freqs by antenna size. Wish I knew more but will keep reading. I would like to hear shroyers but they won't give out thhe freq they use as they think I am a competitor. go figure. Any way I did find two towing company's on the fcc license site but those freqs are dead quick even though the site says they are active. The last wrecker I was in about 6moths ago had a motorola mounted under the dash but I couldn't tell much more then that. I can you that it was working though.
