Realistic pro 32 & 3200

Gentlemen;

I have both pro 32 (portable) and 3200 (desktop) scanners, which are identical in features and function right down to the letter. I have a curiosity question and a functionality inquiry, if I may.
Curiosity: why do these two units in particular not seem to exist anywhere? I can't find any info nor are they being discussed anywhere for any reason. We're they really that unpopular?

Secondly, I can't figure out nor does the manual cover how to clear, or "zero" channels. I know how to lock out but that's not my goal. A good many of the channel slots on my unused banks are 000.000o but I can't figure out how to get some slots with frequencies in them blanked out or cleared so they too read 000.000o.
Any input is appreciated.

PRO-3200 Base scanner sounds like an overseas model.

Both made in Japan, if that's what you mean. The desktop model actually says "Radio Shack" on the back whereas the portable only has the Realistic labeling.

If you can post a picture of the 3200, never heard of such model USA or Beyond. Google says the same when searched

Can you post a pic of the label on the back of the PRO-3200 showing the Radio Shack catalog number and the FCC ID number?

Pro 34 and pro 37 were the popular ones back in those days (800mhz models) to say the least Until the Pro-43 came around.

Power on the radio and press the reset button (on the right side in the photo below) for one second and then release it. Check to see if all channels are zero. The three button cells at the bottom are for memory backup. Removing those should also clear the memory but that might take a long time while the capacitors in the radio discharge.

My PRO-30, the first programmable handheld, also has the 3 button cells for memory retention.

I agree that he closest mobile version of the PRO-32 would be the PRO-2021. They both were introduced in 1987, have 200 channels, and have the same exact frequency coverage.

That programming sequence came with later scanners. I recently (in the past month) revived a Pro-32 I found in my closet. Same situation as the OP expressed. After programming it I decided to re-arrange the frequencies, which left me with some channels that I wanted to erase. I tried the Program, Zero, Enter sequence. It won't take a zero as the first number in programming, so I can't enter a zero to program the channel for 0 or 000.0000. I have the original manual, and it doesn't address this issue.

Actually, it is. I have no idea why I had 3200 stuck in my brain. It is a 2032.
