TPS entertainment district cops

Just curious...

Where do TPS entertainment cops come from? AFAIK, they're only working the entertainment dist on the weekends, so are they in normal divisions during the week?

They do work out of other Div. they can be monitored on 52-D52/2 52 Div. secondary band.

In Toronto the Queen West/Richmond/King St West entertainment district gets about 20-30,000 a night between Thursday and Sunday.

Lots of drunken stupidity, fights and shootings.

Because of the level of visitors and activity that flows into a relatively small area, they have a bunch of officers from 52 division assigned on those nights.

They have also set up a bunch of cameras throughout the area that are used to record incidents.

What I've heard is when the people who sell drugs to the Thurs-Sat. crowds, party themselves on Sunday, that's when the gunplay rises, especially with the celebratory "shots up to the sky".

While the Saturday crowds are more numbers-wise , they proportionally don't cause as much criminal acts.

They are pulled from different divisions and stationed in the entertainment area for that night(s). Most of them are from 51/52 - However they do bring in others from surrounding divisions when need be. Quite a few TAVIS officers roam the area on those nights too.

Entertainment cops = The officers that work the entertainment district here in Toronto.
