Shortly before 10:00 a.m. this morning a train buff taking photos on the northeast corridor was hit and killed by a high speed train.

Unfortunately, I was on a SEPTA Regional Rail train heading into the city and we were held at Holmesburg Junction for 45 minutes then bused into 30th Street Station. Train service has been suspended all day between Trenton and Philadelphia Northeast Corridor and now I am finally on my way home.

I've been monitoring 160.92, Amtrak road channel throughout the day on my Yaesu ft 65R that I always have with me, it is also programmed with SEPTA police rebroadcast and Amtrak police along with numerous HAM repeaters.

Locally they call them trespassers.

We have a lot of trespassers on the Northeast Corridor which is right nearby me, Engineers always report them and either Amtrak police or local police will check it out. We have a stretch that has 130 mph speed limit which is very popular for suicides.

Can't remember when a train buff was hit, he should have been using station platforms only.
