Anyone on here listen to Trenton NXDN system? It's been quiet for the past two days. I can hear dispatch on their UHF
dispatch channels (460.575 Fire Dispatch NXDN Simulcast and 460.6 Police Dispatch NXDN Simulcast). Have they gone encryption, system down for repair?
Anyone know? Thanks....

Hey Bob, how are you? As we've been talking about this in private... today I confirmed that picking up both State Street and Hoffman Avenue with five bars and a RSSI in the 80s on both sites scanning dispatch 1, data, Tac 1 and 2 Street crime, conversation Channel, supervisors Channel and CIB Channel there is no audio.

160.6 pl103.5 is loud and clear rebrad casting dispatch 1.

I have two theories. The nxdn which is a terrible system is malfunctioning or they have gone encrypted. You will not necessarily hear garbled Transmissions with an SDS 100 except with some P 2 systems. You also may not have a lock onto one of the sites. You also may not have ENC show up on the display for each site. I believe if they are encrypted they are throwing us a bone by giving us dispatch 1 only... on the rebroadcast. That's what they did in 2000 when they went digital they gave my newspaper a Motorola that had only Channel 1 dispatch.

Or they may be using the old UHF system themselves because the nxdn is malfunctioning.

Hard to say, let's see if anyone else knows the scoop... Bob.

Trenton PD dispatch has been using TGID 2 for the past 3 days. Not sure if temporary or permanent.
Warrants and Data was using TGID 14 (Special Events channel) but now back on TGID 3.

Hey Dan how are you?

Bobs has been on this pretty closely and I have not been listening but I've been getting the system coming in very well. It seems like they were adjusting their talk groups. Again I have no reason to be listening anymore with my retirement from Trenton.

I've noticed that the rebroadcast on 460.6 has , improved a little bit but this may not be the same for all.

Bobs keep your eye on the ball and let us know the progress, as you know Dan was the first one to breakdown the Trenton system as he and I were listening to it on DSD and comparing notes in 2015.

Your monitoring and Reporting back your results is much appreciated. I'll monitor it later.

Dan, it seems like it was forever since we last text together before all this BS started. let me know of anything new goingpb, your recent texts was exciting. Lllet me know how your new cars doing. I'm so jealous.

With everything going on and being pressured with a possible letter of necessity which I would not need with my New Jersey State Police and Philadelphia police press credentials I think I'm going to finally completely retire.

Bobs, you are the man on the Trenton nxdn system. Dan and I listen but only occasionally. Let us know what's going on or PM me if you want so we can get up to date on Trenton. I listened for several days after our last contact and things seem to be working okay, as well as they could with such a crappy ill thought-out

Hey Bobs, it's 7 a.m. Sunday morning in case you see this in time. Dan and I are listening to a marine rescue at Bristol Wharf where a car went into the water got jammed Under the Pier, under the water and no one exited. Trenton Marine units were just called to assist and should be on air now, I guess for their divers. Just a note. 24 police units gone encrypted.

The Marine rescue is on Trenton fire 6. 1 confirmed by the way, coroner in route. Bucks Zone 1 and 24 PD remains encrypted, bummer, and fire police dispatched for crowd control.

Trenton nxdn Police Dispatch is on TG 2 still, the only thing I've ever heard on that talk group was some surveillance. I have it Alpha tagged as Tac. Not to be confused with Tac 1 and Tac 2 Street crimes surveillance on TG 5 + 6.

Keep us posted on what you hear Bob, thanks.

For those of you who are in earshot of the Trenton nxdn system you may want to listen. Bobs may start a new thread.

Police are working on holding control the best they can. Bobs has been following all along and I just came into it but day shift held over, homicide task force on talkgroup 14 critical events. Lots of shootings, woman gets shot in the head on Hoffman Avenue.

I would expect NJSP c - 6 to come alive as state troopers come into town.

I have no doubt this is from the lockdown and there is a shortage of alcohol, cigarettes and illegal drugs.

They're taking the shootings one at a time and they are used to this but their biggest problem right now is the huge crowds that are gathering in the streets. Even though all businesses are shuttered with metal barriers I wouldn't be surprised if the public decides to reopen some of the closed businesses.

Gunshot indicator devices going off all over the city. Multiple shots fired throughout the city but they are drive-bys without victims.

This latest shooting confirmed 3 victims. Additional Manpower coming in and they are going to the hospitals as that's where the crowds now are swarming because of all the victims. Lots of family members excetera.

Yep but it's not going to be just tonight, this is because of the shutdown. If this was the badlands of Philly this would just be another sleepy night but for Trenton this is kind of epic and only happens a couple of nights in the summer every year. They just found another body on Garfield and it doesn't look like they made it. They very well might be finding bodies tomorrow with all of these shootings in the dark. You notice the fire department has been going out for a lot of wash Downs tonight as they have to clean the blood off the sidewalks.

This is kind of sad. It has been quite a night.

The Trentonian is calling last night Bloody Sunday. The mayor says we lost our Humanity last night.

Thank you Bobs for bringing to light the talk group changes in the nxdn system that I was not aware of.

I think the system held up pretty good last night for being such a notoriously bad set up. It even worked in Bristol PA when the Trenton divers had to go and remove the body from that submerged car in the river.

Obviously not too many people listen to Trenton but thanks again Bob. (y)

I think the Police talk groups have now gone to encryption (confirmed in RR database) as I now only get garbled voice from those groups.

I have an Icom IC-R30 which supports NXDN decryption...I'm wondering if there's any more systematic way to figure out the encryption key (possible values of 1 through 32767) other than trying 1, then 2, ...etc. ?

This is a brilliant thing to post on a public forum, with your name and address attached.

I think this qualifies as the dumbest post on RR. And there's a LOT. You've come on here, identified yourself by ham callsign, and then nonchalantly told the world that you're willing to commit a federal offense that they take VERY seriously. If I were you, I would immediately delete your account and stay off RR for a long time. *FACEPALM*
