The old thread from 2019 is now locked. Tri-County Electric Cooperative
Several years ago there was a stand alone narrowband NXDN or iDAS repeater (KKA647) at Vera which covers Knox and Baylor counties on 153.695 RAN 4. It was quiet most of the time except for a CW ID with the wrong callsign (WPSI430) and rare voice traffic. It didn't appear to be linked to the DFW area system. I never paid attention to it after that.
Today I noticed it is making what sounds like 1.5 second long narrowband NXDN/iDAS type D trunked system data bursts on 153.695 every 23 seconds. It still has the wrong CW ID. DSD+ isn't decoding for some reason it so I don't know exactly what is going on. Now I can't tell if it is still a non-trunked repeater with some type of roaming beacon or if it's part of a trunked system.
I wonder if anybody has figured out this system in Tarrant, Paker and Hood counties or noticed any changes. Did they make it into a trunked system?
