I have acquired a "replica" Triumph TRI Harris PRC-152.
The unit came with no battery although the seller later found a battery which was good news. The TRI PRC-152 was part of a silent key sale and the battery was later found with some other equipment.
The unit also came with several TRI "top" battery interface chargers.
The TRI PRC-152 radio has 3 "pogo" pins which connect to a battery.
The battery has a centre pad and an outer ring. Presumably the middle radio pogo pin connects to the battery centre pad (+ve?) and the 2 outer radio pogo pins connect to the battery ring (-ve?). This might NOT be correct.
BUT the TRI battery "top" charger interface only has 2 outer pogo pins with an empty "hole" where a center pogo pin might be located. As a result there is no contact between the TRI charger and the battery centre pad.
The radio came with several TRI charger interfaces and they are all identical with no centre pogo pin...just a gap where a pogo pin should be located.
Does anybody know if the TRI PRC-152 radio / battery originally had different pin outs locations. Maybe the original battery did NOT have the a center pad and outer ring but 2 adjacent pads? If that's the case, then the 3 radio pogo pins might not be -ve for the 2 outer and +ve for the centre pogo pin??
I wondering why the radio came with several TRI chargers which were all missing the centre pogo pin? Can I mod the TRI charger by switching the location of the pogo pins?
Also, can I open the TRI battery and charge the lithium batteries in an external charger (assume they are standard 18650 batteries?).
I mainly collect real Motorola (and Harris) commercial radios and tend to avoid the cheap Chinese replica stuff
