I am trying to connect an Icom 7200 to a Windows 8 laptop running FLDIGI 4.0.6. I have followed all the steps in N3JF's 7200/FLDIGI video on Youtube. I can't get the software to control the rig or to decode any signals. COM 3 is the default port with my Icom--I've set COM 3 in the FLDIGI software also. I've tried different baud rates with no luck. In the FLDIG devices setting, I am only given a few choices for Capture and Playback: I've tried all of them with no luck. Any suggestions?
Another question: when I go into the 7200's menu to turn the DATA setting to ON, the receiver has a loud digitial-hash sound on all frequencies, and it is hard to tune any signal. Is this normal?
Thanks for any suggestions and comments. --Leigh/KM6JE.
