To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all, Im wondering if anyone can help me figure out why im not able to monitor this system Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Trunking System, Various, Pennsylvania on my XTS2500 model II UHF-H. I have no issues monitoring another P25 Phase I system w this same radio and already have all the hidden-talkgroups/scan-lists/etc setup so I dont think theres any issues there, it seems to be something specific to it being a Smartnet Type II system.

I've already confirmed all the frequencies in listed in the RR database are accurate using Unitrunker:

and Uniden Sentinel software displays this as the band-plan for the system:

And this is what I have enetered in CPS for the frequency information:

I assume it something to with with entering the system frequencies. I've tried a few different combinations for Rx range but nothing seems to work. Does the tranmit range have to match the system controller for the radio to scan properly even though I won't be transmitting? I must be missing something here. Thank you to anyone who can help me out.
