Just heard 911 send alert to all units to switch to new system at 9:00 am today 9/25. Does anyone know anything about the new set up? Channels, configuration and etc?

Does it matter what order you replace the freqs? will the sds automatically lock onto the control channel?Yes, those frequencies do work. I found them this morning not long after I made the post but got tied up with storm preparation. I replaced the frequencies that were already in use with the new ones in ProScan everything worked perfectly. All the talk groups were the same. The NAC changed though. It's now C41 where it used to be 890.
So far no. That's not to say that it won't be in the future. I to heard that it would be encrypted, but as of transition time it is still all in the clear. Is the new system not encrypted? I was told it was going to be encrypted. That would be awesome if it is not encrypted.
It is P25 for sure.I lost all my chatter for Troup County yesterday. I heard something about DMR. I will try the new frequencies and see if I can get anything going again.,
My source replied "no encryption yet". I don't know if that means that it is coming or what. I don't even know if he knows for sure.So far no. That's not to say that it won't be in the future. I to heard that it would be encrypted, but as of transition time it is still all in the clear.
Where did you enter these frequencies? I have a Whistler 1040 and 1065 and use PSREdit500 and Radio Reference.Yes, those frequencies do work. Any chance of finding out from your "source" what will be encrypted when it happens?Okay, I have a clarification. Troup County did purchase the encryption option with their new system. They are not yet running encryption due to the dispatch consoles not supporting it. They will need to upgrade some of the 911 center equipment before they can activate encryption. No timeline on when that might be. Maybe budget constraints will prevent them from ever completing that? We can wish.
I don't think he would know that, but be prepared for everything. That is how Phenix City went. Total. But maybe we will get lucky and the encryption implementation will not happen.Any chance of finding out from your "source" what will be encrypted when it happens?
No new scanner will pick up encrypted transmissions. Until someone submits an update to the RR database then you will need to manually change the frequencies and the NAC.So if encrypted then any other resources we need to prepare for? Will any new scanners work as these are going away? And will the RR import work for new freq or need to manually import?
How to I change the NAC on the scanner? I have a bearcat 436hp. Forgive me, I am trying to learn.Yes, those frequencies do work.
