Can somebody suggest a good adjustable trunk lip mount? My trunk isn't entirely level and a little adjustment would be nice. I know Diamond and Comet make them. Any recommendations.

Thanks,

Jeff

Not necessarily the answer you're looking for, but I simply bent the antenna at the base. My trunk lip was not too far out of level, so it did not require too great of a bend.

I bought a CP-5NMO made by Comet from Universal-Radio. It is pricey although all of the quality mounts I found were. I have had good luck with mine and found it to be very adjustable. I have it mounted on the very rear of my 2001 Prizm trunk lid. As long as your trunk is straight enough to get the actual lip over it, which I would have to think it is, the mount is widely adjustable by each of the hex screws. You can make the bottom main section of the mount come perfectly vertical off from the trunk then use the top hex screw to level the NMO connector. The big thumb screw allows the entire top section and NMO mount to turn probably almost 180 degrees. There are grooves it screws tight into but there are enough of them closely placed that you most likely be able to get it straight up. If you give me until tomorrow night I can probably get a few pics up of mine.

It was hard to spend 60+ on just a mount but I have been very happy with it, as well as ordering it from universal-radio.com

I've heard Universal Radio are really good folks to deal with. I ordered a Larsen KulDuckie antenna for my HT about 2 months ago, and service was A1!

I have a Couple of Antennex Trunk Lip NMO Mounts on my car.
Got a 1/4 wave VHF on one and I think a 5/8 Wave UHF on the other one, not much 800mhz here.

Both antennas work well on VHF and VHF Lo, as well as UHF of course.

Another point where you can adjust the cp5 mount is where the mount attaches to the actual lip. There is another screw that allows you to twist the mount in a circle when viewing from the top. In the pictures where I moved the antenna forward and back I was limited by the car's body and the coax so it would travel even farther. As you can see I am working with quite an angle down both towards the rear of the car and towards the outside.
