trunk "search" question...

On my BCT8. When I am scanning a trunk system bank, I hit the search button, and it doesn't always go to search mode. and when I hold it in, it doesn't always go to the id search either. It's like it doesn't even work.

I've noticed that when I am scanning just a trunk bank only, sometimes it will read "id scan" on the display, and sometimes it will just display the regular "scan" moving across. I am sure to have it in trunk mode all the time this goes on.


Am I missing something, or doing something wrong?
The bank I am sccanning only has 2 CC's in it. and I have about 12 ID's programmed in.

Sounds like its loosing the control channel.

What do you mean by "loosing"?

Is it not recieving a signal from the CC, or is something going on internaly?

My understanding from the manual is that any time it is scanning the trunk channels/bank, it should show "id scan" on the display.

It does once in a while, but mostly just shows the regular "scan" going across.

Ok it sounds like it is loosing the signal. How far are you from what you are trying to listen too?

About 25 miles or so. When it was picking things up, Lasalle Co. sherrif was coming in loud and clear.
And was hearing quite a few others while searching, but now it just kinda stopped, I re-checked my CC freqs. that were entered, and the ID's I had entered, they are all still there. Not sure what happened.
