First, set up a Group ID (5) separate from your talk groups and use the P25T Sub-Group column to set up the tones you would like the pager to unmute for. You may also set up the Alert Mode column for how you want the pager to behave when it receives the tones. You will need to set up a separate Group ID for each of the tones you would like the pager to unmute for.
Next, set up a knob position (6) for "Trunking TG-Scan," set up the Binding Feature to "Sub-Group Feature," and set up a Reset Mode. The Reset Modes are where it gets a little tricky. Auto Reset and Selective Manual Reset are the two more useful modes. Auto Reset will unmute after receiving tones and then automatically reset (mute itself) after the dispatch has finished airing information. Selective Manual Reset will unmute the pager and stay unmuted until the user resets it using the side top button.
Check your Delay N Timer and Record Delay Timer, especially if the dispatcher has a long pause between sending the tones and airing the dispatch information (Delay N Timer) or if there is a long pause in the middle of airing dispatch information (Record Delay Timer).
Finally, add the dispatch talk group to Knob - Talk Group List and ensure that you set up the Binding Settings: Sub-Group Setting. In the Sub-Group Settings, Edit the talk group you have added and enable the tones from the first step by checking the box next to the tones. By default, the pager stays muted until it receives the correct tones, but you can have it unmuted by checking the Alternatives box in the Sub-Group Settings.
If you use the Selective Manual Reset, you will need to add talk groups to the Revert - Talk Group List that the pager will monitor after it receives the tones for the first time and set up the Binding Settings: Sub-Group Setting again if you would like the pager to alert to additional tones before it is manually reset using the side button. The Revert list can listen to additional talk groups after receiving the initial tones such as separate response talk groups.
