Trunked system programming Pro106

First sorry to hijack this thread however i purchased the same scanner today i got my local programmed finally. but i still dont even know what a trunk system is or if my area even uses it im in Eastman Ga


2nd What kind of Antenna end does this scanner use i wanna get some cable and a big outside antenna so i can pick up more any ideas ?

First, welcome to the GA forum. I would be a big help if you posted your county. Second banner down from the top is the User CP(upper left corner). Put your info in and it will show up under your join date. Makes it easier for us to help.
Second, a BNC. You don't want to hook a really big antenna to the 106. The signal will actually overpower the scanner. Handhelds are made to be a bit more sensitive than base/mobile radios.

opps I got a pr0- 160 not 106 it is a base model sorry for the mess up and thanks for all the advice

Not a problem. It seems that there are only 6 frequencies for your county! I would suggest some sort of omi-directional antenna such as a discone that is multibanded. Won't need to go for RG-8, since most of the frequencies are High and Low band VHF. Really good RG-8 mini, RG-6 TV coax is a good bet. I am sure someone else will chime in with more suggestions:)
