Im wondering how you can change the CDV tab from hex to DEC
in the help file it shows it has as a dec number and not hex. I hit "o" and chanced that to dec but it dont seem to work for the CDV tab
iv got ver 3.8.3b1.4

It won't change. The hex numbers you are seeing in that column are channel numbers. By using those channel numbers in the correct bandplan will give you the proper channel frequencies (800mhz Motorola bandplan should work off the bat.... the frequencies will populate on their own.... UHF/VHF systems nees a little help). The 'CDV' column is just an overview of what type of activity has been seen on each frequency... 'C' being the Morse Code CW callsign, 'D' being Data (control channel) activity, V being voice. You will also see 'A' for alternate control channel.

Back to the hex frequency stuff for a second.... if you are trying to use this version of Trunker on Fleetnet, in your Trunker folder make a file called '782dmap.txt'. In that file paste in this single line:

141.015,0.015,17c

Save the file and open the site file for the tower you are monitoring (for Sarnia, that would be 782dc31.txt). Scroll down and delete all the lines starting with those hex numbers, save, and restart trunker... That should allow Trunker to determine the correct frequencies on it's own.

Might as well go all-out and add the other two lines:

141.0150,0.015,17c
151.7300,0.015,243
154.3200,0.015,278

Use nsert -> andplan to create a new bandplan entry. Fill out the base, step and min/max LCN numbers and ave. You'll need to do this three times - once for each entry.

Hex channel numbers ...

Base 141.0150 Mhz - Step 15 khz - LCN Min 17c Max 242
Base 151.7300 Mhz - Step 15 khz - LCN Min 243 Max 277
Base 154.3200 Mhz - Step 15 khz - LCN Min 278 Max 2F7

Decimal channel numbers ...

Base 141.0150 Mhz - Step 15 khz - LCN Min 380 Max 578
Base 151.7300 Mhz - Step 15 khz - LCN Min 579 Max 631
Base 154.3200 Mhz - Step 15 khz - LCN Min 632 Max 759

And will that show me the freq under the channel tab?
Aye Captain! :) Yes. I think there's an [A]pply option. Worst case is ave your data and re-start the program.

Rereading Forts reply and thinking about it, let me change one thing he said to be more precise. Put that "sysidMAP.TXT" file in the same folder as the data is collecting for system you are monitoring. Make sure you have the MAP file named exactly the same as the rest of the system files; i.e., ssssMAP.TXT where ssss = SysID.

No, the map file should be for the whole system. I have attached a map file for you here.

Strange that it's not working for you. I can zip up my whole trunker package and send it to you if you like.

I'm under the distinct impression that the "map" file only worked for the
special compile done by Eric Cottrell, M383 beta ec1. Unless somebody
knows for a fact that it works on the 3.8.3b1.4 version, that may be the
problem.

What ver is better? the M383 or 3.8.3b1.4?
Better?

The version we are used to using with the map file, you didn't even mention. I am not sure where you got 3.8.3b1.4, I don't see it at the official Trunker site (Trunker Yahoo group). I have attached the version that was done by Eric to handle the VHF/UHF problem that sprung up and uses the map file. Try it.
