Does anyone know someone that I can go to for my Radio Shack Pro-95 Scanner, except Radio Shack? I went there and the kid had no friggin clue what I was talking about. Not gonna say what store it is, but it was horrible. I am having trouble with my trunking system and I cannot get it fixed. I have stripped everything off of it and I still, everytime I want to listen to JUST FD dispatch, Tac Channels, Police Northern and Eastern Districts, and the Spec. Ops for PD on there. I programmed the numbers in and everything, and got all of the stuff for the county.

You're better off talking to a wall than asking anyone at Radio Shack....

Do you have a program like Win95 and a cable? That's the best thing the sale person at RS can tell you -- buy the cable....

To be more specific - you want the 20-289 cable, not the 20-041 - many folks have been burned by otherwise well-meaning RS folks who don't know a scanner from their xxx. There are also some other brands that seem to also work...you can get a link for Win95 - and the other manufacturers of the cable, in case the RS near you doesn't have it - on the PRO95 Wiki page

This wont help you much but just adding my comment.
I hate Radioshack. Everytime i go in there i get reminded of what Larry The Cable Guy says They always want my name, number, and address. What are they gonna come over and use the item with me.

For real. And later on the doorbell rings and they are there to watch a dirty movie with ya. lol Anyway, I am gonna have to get a new one. I am telling you, this one sucks. I got it around Christmas of 2004 and I hate it. The Pro95 sucks. I was just talking about it with someone, and I am getting a Bearcat. I HATE THIS RADIO SHACK JUNK.

Did the Pro-95 .pdf manual I sent you back on Dec 24 help at all?

It helped a lot; it just isn't working. I appreciate(d) your help, too. I don't know what is wrong with it. I am now hearing from some people about the Pro-95 that it is the toughest scanner to program. I believe them, too!

Anyway, I may find a way to sell this one and get something else. I am not sure yet but I am really getting tired of this stupid thing. I was supposed to get an old one from AACOFD, being my dad was the lead guy who rebuilt their dispatch center, he met a lot of people. The guy isn't returning my dad's calls, so I probably won't get it. I was pretty excited, too. But now a member of another forums site built and developed a site where you can listen to the tac channels:

www.shoutcast.com type in AAFD into the search and listen to AACO tac channels with about a 20 second delay. I think it is awesome!

I have the 95 and love it. If you program it by hand, as with any modern scanner, it is difficult to program. Heed our advise. Get the cable, Win 95 (which is free) and I will gladly give you a file that is centered around AACo it will also cover the surround jurisdictions that are not digital, and the jurisdictions that are digital and have non-digital channels.

Once you see Win 95 it is easy to use and easy to master.

I have a Pro 95 and love it as well. The GRE products have a bit of a learning curve to them, once you master them they are great products.

I cloned my Pro 96 scanner for two people at work. One has never had a problem from it and the other comes back to me about every two weeks for a refresher.
