TRX-2 RSSI adjustment

Looking around this forum to the WiKi pages, I haven not seen anything on adjusting RSSI values on the TRX-2. Looked at Mark's scanners, it's very vague, just tells where to find the settings in EZ scan. I attempted to adjust the numbers, I can enter a number(s) but it reverts back to the default numbers.

It seems to me the RSSI is very "generous". For example, I have a site 30 miles east of me, which decodes 50% of the time. My PRO106 shows it around 1-2 bars, the TRX-2 is showing close to 3-4. As I write this, the site is active, but very "pixelated".

Any soultions on how to adjust RSSI, or am I missing a step?

What are the RSSI values in the PRO-106? Make sure the global attenuator is not on (GA at top of display). Here are the standard RSSI values:

PSR-500/600, PRO-106/197
Bar 1
370
Bar 2
450
Bar 3
520
Bar 4
610
Bar 5
680
PRO-651/652, WS1040/1065
Bar 1
190
Bar 2
230
Bar 3
260
Bar 4
290
Bar 5
320

Both ARC500 and PSREdit500 show the values listed in the chart as the standard. 750 is the maximum value allowed in the scanner. Try resetting the values on your PRO-106 to the values listed in the chart to see if the meters have a closer match.

I adjusted my TRX-2, and TRX-1, signal bars using a signal generator to be more dynamic, one bar first when the signal are almost noise free and all bars when I receive the strongest signal that I have from any system.

I don't have a signal generator, but I used the numbers you have posted on your link. The bar levels look more "true". My site clear out east of me is now around 2-3 bars, instead of the 3-4 and sounding choppy.

I reset the values on the Pro106 and it looks better as well.

Thanks for the help everyone!
