Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Is it possible to use BT to program a dual-deck with a KCH-20R? I have been unable to program this setup ever since I added the NX-5700 deck to the NX-5800/KCH20-R set. The "BT Interface Selection" is greyed out.

Also - the KPG software finds the BT devices from each radio, but when I try to write using Multi RF Deck Setup, KPG briefly talks to the selected indiv deck, then gives this error:

Both decks have the BT license, and I have enabled BT under "Product Information" for both. And even wrote the files back to the radios.

BT is enabled under the Control Head Menu function, and it can find local devices under "Find Devices"

Any other reason I cannot enable BT programming through the head?

KCH-20R: K 5.14.00
NX-5800 : K2 K 5.14.00
NX-5700 : K K 5.14.00

The Bluetooth programming is set via the product info. Your photos are for Bluetooth devices like an ear piece.

Both decks will need that check box in product info checked and uploaded to the radios then you can BTSPP.

Yes, you can, via Bluetooth program both decks, using D1 in Bluetooth mode.

Working now. I may have thought I wrote the file back into each deck, but the VHF deck showed otherwise. So, the solution was to perform a Read Configuration in the Radio Info dialog box, check the BT box (if unchecked; also assumes you have the BT license), and write the file back in.

Thanks for the help.
