I keep getting occasional data bursts buzzing in (SCADA, maybe?) on the 325 and sds200, mostly from Athens and Corsicana. Sounds just like listening to DMR on an FM radio. I'm going to do some logging with ProScan tomorrow, so maybe I'll have something to submit, or at least some TGIDs to lock out.

Does anyone know why TxDOT went with DMR in the DFW area instead of P25? Seems odd to move towards two different standards

Hearing the same bursts on the McKinney site. Those are probably GPS location transmissions. Usually Slot 1 for GPS and Slot 2 for voice.

I think the Fort Worth TxDot must be using a PTT service. The only radio transmissions in Tarrant County are weak simplex Truck to Truck communications. On the other hand I am hearing Johnson County and Weatherford, same district, pretty strong from here in NE Tarrant.
If that's the case, they probably have been PTT since before NTIRN exsisted. Seems every time I search and search for a service or agency, turns out they are using PTT.

I'm hearing them on GATRRS in Williamson, Travis, and Bastrop counties. They've been pretty busy.

How often are the data bursts and how long are they?
There are some DMR conventional systems around here with IP linked repeaters. They all key up a few seconds about once a minute. It doesn't appear to be data just repeater hang time.

OK found a new one in Tarrant County. 156.0875 nfm . Snow Plows talking about raising and lowering their shovel and leftside or rightside, and where to dump. Loud and Clear here in NE Tarrant. Took a long time to figure out the location, but they just said they are heading up to SH 114 and Ira E Woods.

Same for my listening location near Argyle, TX. Weak simplex on TxDot Talk-1 mostly. I am not hearing any other traffic, at all.

I heard a lot of DMR activity from the Athens, Corsicana, Kaufman, Mesquite, and Waxahachie sites earlier. I heard two guys talking on the Mesquite site, who mentioned going back to "primary", so TGIDs may be useful to us in some way.

Random length, generally 2-5 seconds, but occasionally longer. No repeating pattern; happens 3-7 times in a 10-15 minute period, then disappears for a good while. Similar events occur on multiple sites. It can be annoying at times.

I'm figuring it's a work reporting system with GPS, conditions, job status, etc.

Years ago when lived in Mineral Wells they brought in crews from other districts. I heard some simplex coms with frequencies/tones that matched repeaters in Abilene and Amarillo if I remember right. They were probably using their local repeater talkaround. I don't know if that could still happen now.

UPDATE: After numerous days, the only frequency I am received ( I am in the Argyle, TX area) is 151.025.
Here is my list to date.
Dallas 151.3925 DMR - have not listened much more interest in Fort Worth District.

156.195 nfm Johnson County
151.0925 nfm Parker County
151.075 nfm Wise County
151.0175 nfm Tarrant County
151.085 nfm Tarrant County (busy)
156.135 nfm Tarrant County (statewide freq) but they were local
156.1875 nfm Tarrant County (New) very active this morning in NE Tarrant County

I am in NE Tarrant County and using an old analogue scanner and some sdr software, turned off all PL tones and codes. Also using a center tuned aviation band outdoor antenna.
