Anyone catching comms related to winter weather prep. In particular, wondering what is being used in Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston areas.
Hearing that there are DMR comms on 151.3925 slot 2 in Dallas area as well as analog 151.025 PL 100.0 (TxDOT Talk 1).
Also, I guess DFWScan@yahoogroups.com just disappeared. Never saw anyone mention that it would transition to another service like groups.io. It really wasn't getting much activity.

I'll throw the frequencies licensed for this area into my TRX-1 & see if I get anything specific.

As far as I know, you are correct. The DFWScan group did not migrate to Groups.io, and no notices received about anything related to it. There appears to be a Facebook group, but I have no idea if it's active or not (I'm not on Facebook).

I don't know if this small PNG image I saved from a copy and paste I email myself from a Microsoft Works file on a Windows 7 PC to a Windows 10 PC? I haven't done a lot of TXDOT listening in a long time. But I did confirm these frequencies that are on my old confirmed list. I wouldn't even look at any of the EDACS frequencies because that's an old, defunct system and they're not there anymore. Everything here is confirmed but this data can range from a couple of years ago to easily 15 or 20 years ago. I think over here in the Fort Worth area where I am they use the VHF frequencies more than anything. I've been scanning the rr.com entries from a lot of Texas areas as well as these frequencies I have confirmed in the past over the last hour. I haven't really heard anything yet though. That may change as the sun comes up?

I'd be interested in updating my information if anybody else has any info to share on TXDOT.

This is a small 36 KB file so hopefully it has enough resolution for people to see the text.

I have been hearing Palo Pinto County TXDOT working the snow issues on 151.0475 173.8 PL. I've also been listening to Weatherford TXDOT on 151.0925. I forget which PL tone they're using but it's the one listed on rr.com.

From NE Tarrant in the last hour or two. 151.085, 151.020, 151.000(151.0025) and 156.195 have all been Sanding Operations. Mind you I am using an older analog scanner for these.

Thanks for the report. I've been listening to 151.085 as the car to car / talk around channel over on the western side of Tarrant County. It sounds like a simplex frequency. And the 156.195 frequency I've been hearing Johnson County operations. I've also received traffic from Jacksboro but I can't recall the frequency right now. I think it was 151.0325? And also the 151.0425 Palo Pinto / Parker County frequency has been super busy. There have been a few others with some light traffic that I've received from Northwest Tarrant County but I'm not by the radio right now where I could get those frequencies.

TxDOT sanding operations in south Dallas county and Ellis county being heard on 151.1225 DMR S2 CC1 TG22 this morning. This could be one frequency of a DMR trunked system, but haven't had time to figure that out.

SECURE or nowdays it's probably part of SHARES

I used to hear DPS Victoria and a few other stations occasionally use the OPS SECURE HF frequencies just kind of testing and fooling around back in the late '90s. I don't think they do anything with it nowadays though.

Have not anything on the low band frequencies in quite some time. Or seen a low band antenna on the trucks for that matter. Does TXDOT even still use them?

Maybe in some areas. None of the vehicles here have had low band antennas for years. They let most of the low band-only licenses expire or cancelled them.

TxDot sand trucks here in Bryan are using 151.085 pl 100.0. Simplex, can't seem to find a repeater in use. Fwiw-the 151.085 is not allocated for the Bryan DO.

It's one of the four statewide simplex channels.
151.025
151.055
151.085
156.135
In many areas there are other licensees on those. TXDOT uses PL 100.0 or NAC 293 on them.

Yeah that's one of the statewide channels and I know they use it simplex up here in Tarrant County / Fort Worth. We also seem to have the dispatch for the whole Fort Worth region possibly on 151.0925. there's a lot of other frequencies I've been picking up for other regions and sometimes the Fort Worth region that are listed not here but elsewhere. I think that TXDOT rr.com list might be a little bit old. But the frequency seem good and there's usually a few others that aren't on it. I normally look in the 151.0 to 152 MHz range as well up in the 156.0 to about 159.0 MHz rrange. We even have a few DMR frequencies that seem to get used by TXDOT over on the Dallas side. TXDOT used to be on an EDACS narrowband TRS up here but it's been years since they've used that. I'm kind of glad because it's usually a lot easier, plus a better band, listening to them on the VHF-Hi frequencies.

Roger that Tom & Brian, kinda thought it was one of the state wide freqs but didn't know what they were. I found the state wide list just now.
I have been searching through those vhf freq ranges last day or two where TxDot might be and nothing else found. They are also using a 3rd party road crew to help spread sand and such.
I haven't heard (or can't pick up) any comms from neighboring counties. Best I can tell the comms on 151.085 I'm listening to have only involved Brazos Co, that is haven't heard any discussion about crossing over to next county or relating to other crews working over the line.
Anyway... Happy Monitoring. I haven't listened to the scanners this much in a while!

I am hearing units on 151.395 CC1 TG 14 Slot 2
Just heard a unit say he was needed on i30 westbound and they told him to go to taylor yard to fill up. They said it was near 30 and 75.
I have been monitoring the 151.1225 with out a peep so not sure if thats active in dallas or not.

EDIT I now see the license above has a site in Mesquite on 151.3925 so im sure thats what it is. My scanner in search mode 151.0 to 152.0 has step size to auto. I now have it set to 7.5 and its parked on 151.3925 and picking up the same traffic.
Have not seen any other TG than 14.
