TxWarn Site 2(11)

I started picking up site 2(11) on TxWarn with CC 773.05625. Most of the traffic is Liberty County. Has anyone identified this site and where it may be located. I did not find it in the DB. Actually I am in Lake Charles, LA and picking it up very strong this morning and not picking up any other sites on TxWarn. Some mornings and nights I can monitor several sites on this system.

I believe that may be the Livingston Texas , Polk County.

Yes it is the Polk County tower that recently came online. Liberty county is southeast of Polk and when Units are in the western and northwestern part of Liberty County they will hit the new tower in Polk and the tower in Walker County to the west. Polk is not on TxWarn yet, but Walker is. I consistently pick them up on the Walker County TxWarn. Will program in the Polk County tower and see what I hear since I'm on Lake Livingston.

Lufkin and Nacogdoches recently went online as well. Trying to capture the Talk Groups for Lufkin PD and Lufkin Fire since the are not published yet.

Are the departments actually broadcasting on the Lufkin and Naco sites? If so may have to get out and turn the yagi that way and see if I can pick them up.

They are not using Lufkin as a primary talk system, but I did notice LPD patched over from VHF last night. I think they were on talk group 20235. I have heard Rusk Co SO on it more than anything else.

Got home from my Christmas trip and programmed in the Polk Co. site. Liberty Co. actually coming in better on Livingston tower than it is on the Moss Hill tower that is in Liberty Co.

Are you getting Lufkin on the Angelina Co. tower or the Nacogdoches Co. tower? Programmed in the Angelina Co. and have it on ID Search but haven't heard anything.

I am getting them on the Lufkin site. I did hear them this afternoon, but it is a console patch from their VHF so I am not sure if it is patched all the time. Last I knew none of the patrol officers had 800 capability in car or portable. They did recently get a few new units so they might have ordered multi-band radios for them at the same time.

thanks for the info, will try and tune the antenna to Lufkin better.

Pointed the yagi at Lufkin this morning. I am now receiving Lufkin PD on TGID 20235, and Lufkin Fire/EMS is patched from 154.4450, no TGID assigned. Have ID Search on so can try to ID the transmissions.

Other than the one Fire/EMS transmission with no ID that's been it. Haven't heard Nac SO, but may have just missed it with other channels scanning.

Just heard something on 20012 TGID, may have been the Nac SO. Have to figure it out.

That is the tower for the northern part of the county, wasn't sure if there was going to be a second tower. Still no word on when the county swapping to TxWarn. Thanks for the info.

Update 1-7-24

Angelina Co. still appears to have only one unit and dispatch on TxWarn that talk to each other. The Dispatch does not broadcast on TxWarn except to this one unit.

Polk Co. SO is now showing a TGID of 8001, but is not transmitting on the TxWarn system. Lufkin DPS still using conventional system when communicating with Polk Co SO, haven't received them on Polk Co TxWarn tower.

San Jacinto Co. did some testing on a new unit this afternoon and was showing a TGID of 12xxx, didn't catch the last three digits because I didn't notice till just before it went off screen. San Jacinto SO Dispatch now showing a TGID of 1. I am not aware of any TxWarn tower in San Jacinto Co.

Still only San Jacinto County SO dispatch, Liberty County, and sometimes Walker County and Montgomery County Fire/EMS coming across the Polk County Livingston Tower. No timeline on when Polk Co. SO, Livingston PD, and Onalaska PD are coming online.

Also have heard nothing lately on the Angelina County Tower lately.

I heard from the local radio shop here that San Jacinto SO was planning to go with the TXWARN system rather than a VHF Simulcast system. I am sure they are testing coverage off the current sites around them before they put one up on the Cold Springs tower.
